8 Doubts About Byu Women’s Soccer You Should Clarify | Byu Women’s Soccer

The BYU Cougars women's football represents Brigham Young University within the Western Coast Conference of NCAA Division I football. The team has joined the conference for the first time since graduating in 1980. In the beginning the team represented the state of Utah as an independent football team but they later joined the WCC. The current coaching staff is headed by assistant coach Kim Corriveau.

History The team has played many different kinds of games throughout its history. Some of the notable games that the team has participated in include the Cotton Bowl, Las Vegas Invicta, Armed Forces Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl and the Alamo Bowl. The teams have also played in the Great Northern Classic and the Holiday Classic. Prior to this season, the Cougars were also involved in the Mid-American Conference.

Roster The full roster for this year's team is listed below. Goalkeeper-JP Sears is the starter and has been with the team since the beginning. She has made seven saves thus far. Defender Abbey Haber is also on the roster and is listed at left back. Forward Kiara Gaines is listed at forward, while defender goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris is listed at right back.

Season Outlook The Cougars are currently tied for third in the WCC with one game remaining. They are in a very doable position to finish second behind Utah Valley University who currently holds the WAC title. If the Cougars can win their final two games by a slim margin (including overtime) then they will be heading into the championship game against either Oral Roberts University or Weber State. I expect a very tight competition in this latter game for the WAC title.

Current Schedule The Cougars will conclude their regular season schedule this coming weekend with a home match against Oral Roberts University. The match will tip off at 4PM PST and can be viewed on ESPN2. The teams are scheduled to play each other once this season. Other matches this season have been rained out. The team will conclude their non-conference schedule with a trip to Salt Lake City to take on Utah Valley University.

As for the next season, the future looks strong for this team as it enters its second year of Division II action. It is projected that this team will contend for the WAC Title and potentially the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
