10 Great Mallory Pugh Ideas That You Can Share With Your Friends | Mallory Pugh

Mallory Pugh is a very tall (six-foot-one), athletic defender for the Chicago Red Stars of the North American Soccer League. She wears No. 23. She was born in Chicago but grew up in Maryland. She played college soccer at Southern Illinois University.

Pugh made her start playing soccer when she was still in high school. She played on the swim team and was a member of the swim team, too. Injuries prevented her from playing basketball, though, so she switched to soccer and attended the University of Maryland. She began playing with the Terrapin Crew of the college soccer program and was then called up by the United States Women's National Team. In 2021, Mallory Pugh was diagnosed with cancer, but she has been doing very well and is back playing football.

Mallory started playing football at a very young age, though. She started playing with the boys' soccer team at her school and continued playing on the swim team throughout her four years of college. She did not start playing volleyball or basketball during her college years because of a foot injury. However, she did play tennis for three years, which gave her a good background when it came to playing sports.

Pugh played all of three seasons for the Terrapin team before going into coaching. Then, she became a part of the staff at Maryland in College Park. She served as an assistant coach for the basketball team before becoming the director of soccer at the school. Now, she serves as the associate head coach at Maryland. Mallory is also the director of soccer operations for the Maryland Thunderbirds.

Mallory Pugh was naming the team co-captain for this past season. This is the second straight year that she has won the job. The honor is particularly meaningful, considering all of the work that Mallory has done as both a coach and an administrator for the team. It is also something of a reward for all of the years of service that she has given to the program. This is especially true since the Terrapins have not reached the NCAA tournament during her four years as an assistant coach.

Now that Mallory Pugh has been hired as the new head coach at Maryland, she will be working with some top recruits in the program. It will be interesting to see what kind of staff she is able to assemble. Perhaps we will see some new faces on the team and some familiar faces switching roles. Either way, it will be exciting to see what the new direction the Terrapins will be heading in.
